The practice does not end when the candle does. Once your 100 hours are complete, the vessel is ready to become a lasting part of your home.
Follow these steps to reset the apothecary glass for its next purpose.
Step 1
The Label
Our labels are made to come off cleanly. There is no need for chemicals, oils, or scrubbing.
- Lift: Once the candle is at room temperature, find a corner and lift gently.
- Peel: Pull back slowly with steady, even pressure.
- Result: The label comes away whole, leaving the glass clear of residue.
Step 2
The Wax
Hot water floats the last of the wax to the surface, where it hardens into a disc you can lift out.
- Heat: Boil enough water to fill the jar.
- Pour: Place the jar on a heat-safe surface and fill with hot water, leaving a gap at the top.
- Wait: The wax melts and rises to the surface.
- Cool: Once the water is completely cool, the wax hardens into a solid disc.
- Remove: Lift the disc out, pour the water away, and remove the metal wick holder with a spoon.
- Wash: Warm water and soap. Our glass is food-safe and dishwasher-safe.
Step 3
A New Purpose
Your vessel is now a blank canvas, ready to be lived with. Made from heavy-duty, apothecary-inspired glass, it holds everything from your morning coffee to your evening balms.
